Antique oak framed armchair, low library chair, made around 1850 probably, so early to mid Victorian. Green upholstery to the seat, back and arms, the latter being supported on a row of barley twist pillars. Ornate legs below with carved sections, although sadly one section is missing (see pics). Condition isn't bad structurally: there were once castors on the feet but long gone now. Some repairs to the back legs. The frame is still pretty solid; not much movement there. The internal upholstery is fairly firm; not saggy. Cosmetically, apart from the missing carving. there are various scuffs and marks but nothing too terrible. The upholstery is a bit faded in places, some minor wear and the odd loose trim. This is a good looking piece with plenty of life left in it, at a reasonable price to reflect its imperfections.
